Trusted Music Culture

Write for us

We welcome pitches that make a specific part of music culture easier to understand, question a familiar assumption or give readers a fresh way to listen. Send proposals through the Contact page; please do not submit a finished article unless requested.

What fits

Strong contributions focus on music listening, discovery, formats, genres or scenes and offer a clear idea rather than a broad survey. We welcome explainers, thoughtful comparisons, cultural history and practical approaches that readers can use without specialist access or professional advice.

What to include

Tell us the working title, the central question, the main point readers should leave with and why the subject suits Trusted Music Culture. Note the proposed format and any sources, examples or potential conflicts of interest relevant to the pitch. Keep the proposal focused enough to distinguish it from familiar general coverage.

How we work

We consider clarity, accuracy, originality and fit. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we may discuss scope, evidence and framing before accepting work. We do not accept material that disguises promotion as independent editorial coverage.

Our point of view

Listen closely. Question the label.

Music culture is full of neat categories and confident claims. We look at what those words help us hear, and what they leave out.
