Trusted Music Culture

Editorial policy

Trusted Music Culture aims to be accurate, independent and clear about the difference between fact, interpretation and promotion. We review wording and context carefully, and welcome specific correction requests.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against appropriate sources and seek enough context to avoid making a quotation, genre label or example carry more weight than it can bear. When a point is uncertain, disputed or a matter of interpretation, we say so rather than presenting it as settled fact.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers, not to satisfy a commercial partner. Any material connection that could affect how a piece is understood will be disclosed clearly alongside the relevant material.

Corrections

If you believe something is inaccurate or missing important context, contact us with the passage and the reason for concern. We assess correction requests and make changes where warranted, with a clear note when the change materially alters a published account.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, commissioned or partner-supported material is labelled plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where relevant, that use is identified and images are not presented as documentary evidence.

Our point of view

Listen closely. Question the label.

Music culture is full of neat categories and confident claims. We look at what those words help us hear, and what they leave out.
